Define what the sample needs to test
A layout example needs representative lengths and quantities. An import test needs records with defined fields. Allocating options requires rules about repetitions. Choose a generator for that question, since filler text, fictional records and a random list serve different purposes and cannot substitute for one another in every test.
Sample JSON data generates records with id, name, email, score and active. Addresses use example.com and do not represent real accounts. Select count and seed: the same combination produces the same JSON. Retain both values to reproduce an issue or compare tool versions with identical input. This seeded randomness is not intended as a source for passwords.
Prepare identifiers and placeholder text
Numeric sequences offers integer start, step, count and digit padding. Start 1, step 2, count three and padding three produce 001, 003 and 005. Negative steps descend and a zero step repeats the start. Leading zeros belong to the textual representation and may disappear if another application interprets output as numbers.
UUID v4 generates random identifiers when a readable numeric sequence is unnecessary. Lorem Ipsum supplies filler by words or paragraphs for checking composition space. Inspect real text too: Latin filler does not represent every length, symbol or requirement of your language. A layout trial should therefore include the kind of content users will actually see.
Shuffle all entries or select particular options
Shuffle list changes order and retains every entry once, including duplicates. It does not select only a winner. Pick from a list returns options according to count and repetition settings. When repetitions are permitted, writing the same name several times gives it more weight than a single entry.
Without repeated options, identical lines are treated as one option. Decide whether you need distinct people or appearances in a source list. Random numbers includes both range endpoints and can repeat values. A repeated result is not automatically a generator failure: inspect the selected rules. These outputs do not replace a certified drawing when your activity requires one.
Save a trial that can be reproduced
For seeded data, save count, seed and format with the output. For random shuffles and selections, retain the original list and the result you obtained; generating again does not promise the same order. Verify count, range, expected duplicates and records from both the beginning and end.
Download or copy before editing controls. Test boundaries with a minimum count, a range containing one value and a deliberate duplicate in a list. Add specific error samples when your application needs them: fictional data generation has a fixed structure and does not automatically exercise every case of your system. Match the sample inventory to the behavior you intend to validate.
A sequence that retains leading zeros
In Numeric sequences, enter these settings, generate and copy or download output. Then try Sample JSON data with count 3 and seed 1 and retain this combination to reproduce the same sample.
Start: 1 Step: 2 Count: 3 Padding: 3
The sequence is 001, 003 and 005, one value per line. Two data generations with count 3 and seed 1 produce the same three records.
Try Ana, Ana and Luis in Shuffle list. Output retains three entries and two appearances of Ana even though order can change. Do not remove duplicates if they represent different units.
