How to use this tool

  1. Load the PDF and select pages to render.
  2. Choose a resolution within the per-page pixel limit.
  3. Open the PNG or extract the ZIP; text and links are now pixels.

An example you can verify

Export PDF graphics to images without JPG’s lossy compression.

Example input

One-page PDF; select that sheet at 144 dpi.

Expected result

One PNG image of the rendered page.

The rendered appearance is retained, not PDF layers, links or editable fields.

PDF to PNG: uses and practical guidance

Converting PDF to PNG creates page images for screenshots, graphical material or visual references. PNG avoids the lossy compression associated with JPG, which can be helpful for diagrams and text with sharply defined edges. The result is still a pixel based image, however. It does not retain text search, links or fillable fields, and its available detail depends on the rendering scale selected during conversion.

Select only the pages you need and consider their final display size. Higher resolution can improve readability when enlarged, but also raises memory consumption and download size. On pages containing many photographs, PNG can be substantially larger than JPG. Page and pixel limits keep processing within browser resources; a phone may need smaller selections than a desktop computer. Increasing resolution beyond what the destination can display may add cost without a noticeable benefit for the reader.

Open the downloaded images and compare small lettering, lines and diagrams with the source document. When multiple files arrive in a ZIP, extract them before use and verify that every selected page is present. PDF to JPG may be more convenient for a small photographic thumbnail. Retain the PDF when sharing a document that must remain searchable, selectable and navigable. A visual capture records an appearance, but it does not preserve interactive document properties or independently certify a signature contained in the original file.

A practical check before using the result

For a diagram page, inspect fine lines and small characters after rendering. Avoiding lossy compression does not prevent insufficient resolution. An image clean at its original size can reveal pixels when enlarged excessively. Choose scale for the intended reproduction and inspect final byte size, particularly when publishing several page images. Keep the relationship between output name and source position for references. Make document corrections in the source PDF and generate fresh images afterwards. Updating only one exported picture can otherwise leave the collection inconsistent with the current document version.

Settings and limits

Choose a PDF, pages and resolution. One page downloads as an image; multiple pages as a ZIP. Images do not contain editable text.

Up to 120 MB, 500 pages per document and 50 pages per conversion. Limit of 16 million pixels per page and 128 MB of images per batch. Visible content is rasterized; links, forms and editable text are not retained.
