How to generate and save random passwords

Choose length and character groups without treating a generated password as an absolute security guarantee.

Length and permitted characters

Choose a length compatible with the service and its allowed groups: uppercase, lowercase, digits and symbols. Kitavio includes at least one character from each selected group.

Use a different password for each service. Reuse exposes other accounts when one service suffers a breach; changing a single digit does not create meaningful independence.

Browser randomness

Generation uses Web Crypto and rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias. It does not derive patterns from names, dates or your personal information.

Randomness alone cannot guarantee account security. Your device, storage, service and additional access mechanisms also matter.

  1. Select groups accepted by the service.
  2. Choose a length and generate a password.
  3. Save it in your manager and check that the entry matches the right account.
  4. Avoid sharing screenshots or messages and do not reuse it.

Save before closing

Kitavio does not store the password or recover it after closing or reloading. Confirm it is saved before completing a service’s password change.

The clipboard and extensions belong to your device. Copying a password does not encrypt it; treat the output as sensitive information.

Criteria for reviewing and delivering the result

Before generating, inspect the destination service’s stated restrictions. Choose accepted length and groups without reusing a personal pattern across accounts. If a symbol is rejected, adjust settings and generate another string rather than predictably trimming or substituting characters merely to make it fit. The generator prepares a value; the actual account change happens in the service and must be confirmed there. Verify requirements before saving a value as the final credential.

Store it in the password manager under the correct account reference before closing or resetting the page. Confirm the destination accepted the change and the saved record belongs to that service. Kitavio retains no recoverable copy, so a temporary clipboard value does not replace storage. Use a password generated solely for a demonstration when explaining the process, never a real account credential. Avoid exposing it in public screenshots during review. A random credential is one part of access handling; management and any additional account protection options remain decisions in the receiving service, outside this tool. Completing storage and destination verification is essential before treating generation as a finished account workflow.

TRY IT YOURSELF

Match a password to its destination service

Choose length 20 and enable uppercase, lowercase and numbers. Add symbols before generating if the destination accepts them.

You get 20 characters including at least one from every selected group. Every generation produces a random result. The password in the screenshot is a public example: generate a fresh one and do not use that key.

Check destination limits before saving. Copy directly into a password manager, avoid reuse and clear the clipboard on shared devices.
